Its preparation will not be difficult, and products for bread kvass will be found in every home. Note, however, that is a long lasting process. You will need:

  • Rye bread-half loaf
  • Bottled water – 3 litres
  • Dry yeast – 25-30 grams
  • Sugar-half a Cup
  • Raisins

Next, put the prepared biscuits in three-liter jar and pour it boiling water. Add a half a Cup of sugar and leave it to cool.

Dilute the yeast in a glass of water and pour the mixture into a jar (when the water in it will be barely warm). Mix thoroughly all the ingredients.

Note that you cannot add yeast to hot water, as boiling water destroys the enzymes that promote fermentation.

Then cover with a saucer or lid jar with bread kvas and leave it in a warm place to infuse for about two days.

After a specified time, filter the kvass through several layers of cheesecloth or a sieve to grain grounds were not included in the drink. In the resulting infusion add a little sugar and carefully stir until completely dissolved sugar grains. Put a handful of thoroughly washed raisins and leave it at room temperature for several hours.

Also the preparation of bread kvass is possible with the addition of mint, cinnamon, cumin, lemon juice, or black currant leaves. In this case, the choice of ingredients depends on your own taste preferences.

Then pour the finished brew into bottles and close them carefully. Put them in the fridge. Within a day this miracle drink will be consumed. It needs to be sweet and sour in taste and when you spill a little foam.

The thick Bread, which was formed after the filtration of the brew, you should not throw away, because it can be used as a starter for the preparation of a second batch of bread kvass. Simply replace the yeast with four tablespoons of yeast. Note that the thick bread should be stored in the refrigerator. And then follow the recipe: steep for the drink, filter it, add raisins and sugar and again allow to settle. Hide the finished infusion in the refrigerator. Thus, refreshing summer drink-bread kvass is ready!
