The Development of the world economy at the end of the last century gave rise to the phenomenon of so-called globalization.

The globalization of the economy – it is a significant strengthening of mutual dependence of countries resulting from the increasing scale of international trade in goods and services, increased international financial flows, movement of labor and scientific-technical cooperation. Because of all this, arises a new quality of relations between countries, namely, mutual penetration of economies, the gradual loss of their national characteristics, the formation of the so-called megaeconomics – “economy, economies”.

The Modern process of globalization prepared by the whole preceding development of society. But in the last third of the 20th century began to form a global economic space (thanks to the technological revolution in communications and information exchange).

The globalization of the economy is explained by the following assumptions:

1) the Activities of the governments of different countries aiming at the integration of national economies through trade liberalization, capital market, labour migration, etc.

2) Information and communication technologies are in the stage of rapid development thanks to the worldwide Internet.

The globalization of the economy gives rise to the following forms of economic and political cooperation.

1) free trade Area, which includes the abandonment of trade quotas.

2) Customs Union, in which not only there were no quotas, but also apply common customs tariffs.

3) Common market – the absence of a quota, the common customs tariff, plus the free movement of resources (first of all – labour) between member countries.

4) Economic Union – a common market plus an agreed economic policy of individual governments.

5) Full integration – compliance with all conditions of the economic Union, supplemented by the unification – the overall economic policy.

A Special form of manifestation of globalization are offshore. They represent a separate territory or even the whole country, within which the capital of other countries receive tax benefits and the ability to carry out various financial transactions in any currency. In today's world there are over a hundred offshore areas.

Effects of globalization: «for» and «against»

The Process of globalization is a highly controversial phenomenon of the modern world, because it has both positive and negative sides.

Positive impacts:

- achieved higher and more stable average world growth rate;

- increased average living standards and consumer choice (list of available goods and services) is becoming more diverse;

- mobilized significant financial resources for the implementation of vital projects for people all over the world – the prevention of diseases, mitigation of environmental disasters, etc.;

Modern technology has become accessible not only for developed countries but for the entire world community.

With all the obvious advantages, economic globalization also carries threats, especially the countries with a low level of development.

- the Economy begins to lose its distinctive features, enhanced by the dependence of their development from the international economic order. Full integration into the world economy threatens the loss of the government's ability to manage their own country. This threat particularly applies to countries that are weak economically and politically. Developed begin to dictate the rules of the game and define the global economic landscape.

- there are prerequisites for the emergence of specific conflicts-cultural, legal, philosophical. The fact that people of one culture is considered the norm for other Nations will be completely unacceptable and hostile. International business actively working in different country contexts, needs to adapt and take into account the peculiarities of each national culture.
