LSP lamp: purpose and device

Currently, the requirements for electric lighting sources are increasing, especially in terms of saving electric energy. Such devices include an LSP lamp (a dust- and moisture-proof fluorescent lamp). At the same level of illumination, it consumes two times less electricity than ordinary incandescent lamps. The fluorescent lighting sources installed in it have a much longer service life than the "Ilyich light bulbs".

Purpose and device

The LSP lamp can be installed both on the walls and on the ceiling. It is usually used to illuminate industrial premises where there is an increased content of dust and moisture in the air. Increased moisture protection is achieved by tightly pressing the lampshade to the base of the lamp using special clips, as well as a seal laid along the entire perimeter of the base. The lamp body is made of metal. For those rooms where tightness is not so important, LSP is used without a seal with fewer clamps, with a degree of protection IP-43. Their cost is less than that of sealed ones. The lampshade is made of frosted impact-resistant polymer glass. For ease of operation, it is attached to the metal base with a cord that allows you to hold it in the disconnected position. It is not recommended to use an LSP lamp in residential premises, but if you still decide to do this, then it is necessary to provide mixed lighting, that is, do not exclude joint use with incandescent or other lamps (for example, halogen or LED). This is necessary to reduce the harmful effect of fluorescent lighting on human vision.

Start-up control equipment

The above-described elements of the lamp design have a number of disadvantages. For example, the throttle may hum during operation, the lamps flicker for a long time before ignition, and the starter creates radio interference.
