Corvette "Persistent" project 20380

Corvette “Resistant” 20380 is a ship of the Russian Navy (hull number 545) newest class created in the development class corvettes “Clanking”. It was developed in ikbb “Diamond”, built in 2006-2012, and in summer 2014 became part of the Navy of the Russian Federation. In addition to his part of the Baltic fleet today are three more corvettes of this project. With its displacement of 2,200 tons Corvette “Persistent” (like other ships of the project) is considered to be “NATO” the classification is too large for its class, and belongs rather to the frigates.

Purpose

Corvette “Resistant” is a project 20380 multipurpose. Such vessels are used for operations in the coastal zone, including the naval blockade, to counter enemy submarines and surface ships, as well as to provide fire support for amphibious operations. Corvette “Resistant” is the first batch of ships of this project, built on the “Northern shipyard» in St. Petersburg consists of four ships. The second batch of seven corvettes to be built by the Amur shipbuilding plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Construction History

The situation changed after the inspection of a ship under construction in the fall of 2008, senior officials of the Russian Government and the Commander of the Navy. After nearly four years of construction at the end of may 2012 was held a ceremonial launching of a Corvette on the water.

The state Commission on July 18 2014 in Baltiysk signed the acceptance/transfer to the new ship "Stable", the fourth serial Corvette of project 20380. The name Corvette is inherited from its illustrious predecessor-the destroyer of the Baltic fleet defending Leningrad and Tallinn during WWII.

Corvettes “Resistant” and “Glib”, as part of the Baltic fleet, respectively, in 2014 and 2013, has caused concern in the staffs of armies of the Baltic countries into the aggressive NATO bloc.

General characteristics of the design of the project 20380 corvettes

The Corvettes have a length of 105 m, width 13 m and a draught of 3.7 metres. Unlike other anti-submarine ships, standing on the arms of the Russian Navy, corvettes of the project is characterized by the following qualities:

Corvette “Resistant”: armament and fire control system

All weapons systems of the ship are functioning under the control of the combat information system "Sigma". It collects information from the radars and sensors and provides a situational picture of the battlefield in real time.
