Lado Ketskhoveli was one of the most important members of the party in Transcaucasia. He was engaged in printing activities and propaganda among the workers. With him in his youth worked as Joseph Stalin. Ketskhoveli was killed during another imprisonment. For the Bolsheviks, he became a model hero and role model.

Early years

Future revolutionary Lado Ketskhoveli was born 14 Jan 1877 in a small Georgian village of Tkviavi in Tiflis province. His father was a priest. Lado – the party name. The real name of the revolutionist was Vladimir. The father sent the boy to study at the Tiflis Orthodox theological Seminary. Within its walls Lado Ketskhoveli became interested in revolutionary ideas that were popular among young people.

In 1893 the young man was expelled from the Seminary. The crackdown followed after he organized a strike of students. After this episode, Lado Ketskhoveli could not live in Tiflis. The young man moved to Kiev, where he was about to continue his unfinished education. There is a revolutionary re-entered the Seminary. Despite the troubles in Tiflis, Ketskhoveli not abandoned his interest in the revolution. He became an active figure in the circles of the Kiev social-Democrats. In 1896 was followed by another arrest and exclusion from the Seminary.

Arrest and death

In the Autumn of 1902 the social Democrats were arrested. Tiflis police received an anonymous tip that helped them uncover the conspiratorial network and catch Ketskhoveli.
