International students ' Day was established in London in 1946 at the world meeting students. It was built in memory of students who bravely fought hard against fascism in occupied Prague in 1939.

The History of this holiday is very sad. In 1939, October 28, students and the teaching staff staged a demonstration to mark the anniversary of the creation of the Czechoslovak state. But the German occupiers, the whole demonstration was dispersed, was killed by a young student named Jan Opletal, who studied in medical school.

His funeral caused a huge resonance among the population and developed into a protest. The majority of students and teachers was captured, and early on the morning of 17 November, the Germans surrounded the dormitory, where lived the young students and many of them were sent to concentration camps. Nine students were executed without trial within the walls of the Prague prison. Hitler ordered all universities to close until the end of hostilities.

Today is world Student Day of fun celebrated on 17 November, among young people studying in Universities. This is a symbolic celebration that brings together all the students. On this festive day, young people not attending school, they can relax and have fun in disco clubs and hostels.
