Gasman's Day - what kind of holiday?

Gas Worker's Day is almost the most celebrated holiday in Russia. Perhaps only the celebrations of builders and metallurgists can compare with it. Almost 30% of our country's economy is tied to this product.

On the first Sunday of autumn, by order of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, a new professional holiday was approved, namely the Day of Workers in the oil, Gas and Fuel industries, now abbreviated as the Day of the Oilman or, as everyone has already guessed, the Day of the gas worker. It is also adopted in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus and many other countries of the former Soviet Union.

In Russia, it is celebrated by those people who have devoted their lives to the development of deposits of pure natural oil and related substances, their extraction and the creation of equipment used in the process of prospecting for these minerals. For the most part, the welfare of the whole of Russia depends on them.

The gasman's Day in 2013 coincided with another holiday – the Day of Knowledge, and the older generation celebrated it with the younger shift. In many cities, students of the graduating classes have prepared concerts for professionals of their difficult business.

Features

Both the oil and gas industries are currently developing most intensively in Russia. Mining companies, as a rule, are not fixated on any one thing. Innovations are constantly being introduced both in the process itself and in the equipment. Methods of transportation and distillation of these minerals are being improved. Almost twenty percent of the working-age population is somehow connected with this industry. Therefore, the Gas Worker's Day fully deserved a respectful and honorable attitude. Undoubtedly, everyone will agree that at the moment it is impossible to imagine life if all the advantages that oil gives us are removed from it.
