Vasily Grossman: life and fate

Later, such blatant criticism to an art form Grossman is not easy. The manuscript was confiscated. And only in 1980, in some unseen way, she went abroad, where he was published.

“Trelinski hell”

Nineteen years after the war, lived Vasily Grossman. All the works of this period were echoes of lived and seen in the forties. In the story “Trelinski hell” the author attempts to answer the questions about why Himmler ordered in 1943 so quickly destroyed more than eight hundred prisoners "death camp". Such inexplicable cruelty was beyond any logic. Even the logic of the Reichsfuhrer-SS. The author made the assumption that these actions were a reaction on the red Army's victory in Stalingrad. Apparently, the summit began to think about the inevitable consequences and the coming punishment. It was necessary to destroy traces of the crimes.

Vasily Grossman died in Moscow in 1965. At home the main work of his life published in 1988. Later. But much earlier than foreshadowed this event Suslov. Soviet ideology, on hearing the story, said: “This book can be printed in two hundred years, not earlier”.
