Biography

Baklanov Grigory was born in Voronezh in 1923, September 11. Comes from a Jewish family. Father's name was Jacob Minevich. He was an officer. Mother's name was IDA G., she was a dentist. After the death of parents Baklanov Grigory was brought up by the family of his uncle. Childhood and later teenage years of the future writer spent in Voronezh.

After Graduating from the 9th grade, goes to the aviation College. After the war he worked at the aircraft factory as a fitter. The company has released attack “Il-2». To become a student of the military school as an external student passed all the exams for the tenth grade. In 1941 he was drafted into the service of the Voronezh RVC. Was trained in artillery school. In 1942, he joined the CPSU(b). In 1943 he fought in the southwestern and Third Ukrainian fronts. Participated in the battles in Austria, Hungary, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine. In 1943, near the city of Zaporozhye were wounded.

For participation in the December battles of 1944 under Szekesfehervar was awarded the order of the red Star. Also awarded medals for the capture of Vienna and Budapest. Received the order of the Patriotic war.

By January 1945, became a Lieutenant, the commander of the platoon firing artillery regiment 1232, 115 Krivoy Rog brigade. He finished the war with the rank of chief of intelligence in the artillery division.

The Writer recalled that when he from the front he returned home, he was only 21 years old. At that moment, he felt that the most important thing in his life is done.
