Social workers are people who care about the vulnerable layers of the population

Social workers – professionals who provide care and support to some of the poorly protected or completely unprotected segments of the population. To these categories can be considered to be such citizens: pensioners, lonely elderly, disabled persons, refugees, children from disadvantaged families, orphans or abandoned. In other words, the part of the population, which is experiencing certain difficulties with employment, and people who are injured. Social workers – it's the people that work on some improvement of material and living conditions of the citizens entrusted them with ensuring their social and legal protection.

The Principal functional responsibilities of a social worker

- the tracking and identification of those who need their assistance, as well as monitoring them and advising;

- for consultations and interviews;

conducting regular visits to the location of the ward, observation of his life and living conditions in which it is located;

- define the nature and degree of their intervention in the emergence of problematic issues;

- coordinating and supervising the activities of certain social structures (for example, contacting law enforcement or medical companies);

buying medicines, food and goods of daily demand

- providing simple medical care.

In the committees of social protection, social services centres, nursing homes, veteran councils and other such institutions such right is an important job. A social worker may be registered in the state of the above organizations or work on a voluntary basis. Such organizations can be referred to counseling services and branches of the pension Fund.

Social workers – are individuals with specific skills, which may include:

- knowledge of the legal frameworks, regulations and acts that regulate certain social relations;

- knowledge of a set of such Sciences as medicine, psychology, Economics and sociology;

- the ability to assist in matters concerning employment and professional orientation;

skills management.

Social workers – experts, place of work and occupation are directly related to their education. For example, people dealing with issues of law, must have the diploma of legal education, and the advisers on the helpline – the presence of degree in psychology. When caring for patients and lone workers should be medical education.

Profession "social worker" be marked with the appropriate decree of the President of the Russian Federation according to which on 8 June celebrated their professional day.
