When you receive a second higher education, as a rule, a large amount of study time is allotted for independent work of students. Modular training is best suited for those already working in the specialty because one of its specific features – the possibility of self-development material at their own pace for each person.
Otherwise, its still called "modular training" because the content of the study material is divided into information blocks with the corresponding number of hours in each. The content of the material can be mastered by each student on three levels: in-depth, full, and lightweight. The student can move around within the module from one knowledge level to another. The result will be evaluated by testing at the end of each topic.
Modular training has a specified algorithm activities for teachers:
1. Reading lectures.
2. The practice.
3. The organization of independent work.
4. Testing for the development of the content of the module.
Modular learning system suggests that the student may not start learning new material until they have mastered the previous one. So he can attend classes on a topic that has remained undeveloped, with students from other groups to increase their period of study and to acquire knowledge with the students of other courses or take the test externally. Modular training involves knowledge assessment, which is carried out on a set of rating points that can be obtained for oral and written work, activity, creativity, independent work and help other students. Separate scores because each test has a key and evaluation criteria of knowledge. The points are accumulated, summed, and take into account all the types of a student's participation in the work on the subject.

- at the time of development of the student topic of the module;
- on the degree of autonomy of learning;
- the methods and techniques of teaching each student (or groups of students);
- on the selection of control methods to assess knowledge.
Modular training has emerged as an alternative to the traditional ways when transition to a new topic were carried out strictly based on time spent training, not on the quality of learning material. The fundamental difference between the training modules is:
- goal setting for each allocated block and the development of its all students group, but at your own pace;
- communication with the teacher is carried out according to the type of cooperation, whenever possible the discussion of methods of development of the material, combines the comprehension and search of forms of studying and generalization of the material, finding the content of the module personal content that is most interesting to study this student, i.e. the implementation of a personal approach;
- the maximum emphasis in training is on self-learning, self-control, self-improvement.
Modular training has been able to integrate all the progressive types and technologies of knowledge: a reflexive approach, the gradual development of mental actions, the programmed instruction. Second degree begins to be radically different from the first, as already motivated in obtaining or improving skills in the specialty, students focused on a high rate of learning, on the quality of their learning and ability to apply effectively in practice.
