So the maternity leave is coming to an end. You will soon go back to work, and your baby will go to kindergarten for the first time. How comfortable the first days of his stay there will be depends not only on the educators, but also on you. All parents face numerous questions. Which preschool should I choose? How to protect your baby from stress? When is it better to bring a child to kindergarten for the first time? How to protect your baby from diseases? And this, of course, is not all that torments caring moms and dads.

Kindergarten for the first timeAs a rule, children who have started attending preschool institutions often get sick. And the point here is not only in the low immunity or irresponsibility of educators, as parents believe. It's just that a lot of bacteria "roam" in kindergartens, which the baby's body has not previously encountered. And the younger the child, the stronger the virus attack. Age is really very important here: it is better to send a child to kindergarten after three years, when the immune system will get stronger and be able to resist familiar viruses, and in relation to new ones — to develop resistance.

It is better to bring the child to kindergarten for the first time at the very beginning of autumn. If during the summer your child ran barefoot on the grass or sand, swam in a pond and ate fruit, then his body is much stronger and prepared for the autumn-winter period. August and September are the months most suitable for a child's first visit to a preschool institution. At this time, it is still warm enough, and the body should have time to adapt.

First time in kindergarten"Which kindergarten is better?" is another logical question. The fact is that in the relatively recent past, all preschool institutions were subject to the same system with the same development plan aimed at gradual preparation for school. Today, kindergartens have several classifications (and, accordingly, differ in orientation), being divided into large groups: private (home, commercial), departmental, municipal. Depending on the type of institution, the training programs, the number of children in one group, the quality of food, and even, alas, the psychological atmosphere will vary. Some kindergartens have such a good reputation that the queue there is occupied almost from the birth of the baby. Most often, parents still choose state preschool institutions with standard general education programs. Whether to use additional paid services or not is up to you (you have the right to refuse them).

Age in kindergartenBefore you bring your child to kindergarten for the first time, ask the head or your future tutor what your child should be able to do. The general level of development and social adaptation has not been canceled by anyone. You should understand that a child who does not know how to do anything on his own will be ridiculed by peers (even at three years old) and, alas, irritate the staff. Your task is to teach your child elementary things by the age of three: to eat independently, to dress (to put on shirts and sweatshirts, to fasten buttons and locks, to pull tights, etc.), to wash hands. At this age, children are already free to assemble simple figures from the constructor and cubes, they know the basic colors and names of the figures. Encourage the development of speech in every possible way: read to him, talk to him, ask questions and do not dismiss the answers. The child should join the team painlessly. The better he is developed, the psychologically easier he will feel in the team.

And again! Bringing a child to kindergarten for the first time, do not leave him for a long time. Changing the situation for him is a serious stress. On the first day, it's better to stay in a group with your baby. An hour for acquaintance will be enough. The next day, leave your child for the same hour, but already alone. Then— until lunch. Increase the child's stay in kindergarten gradually, then the overall adaptation will be quite easy.
