Icon "Kazanskaya Mother of God": the history of the discovery and importance

Icon of “the Kazan Mother of God” is one of the most revered Orthodox shrines. It is believed that the image possesses miraculous power, and it heals the sick, brings success in business and happiness in family life. The celebration of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God falls on two days in the year: 21 July, and 4 Nov. History

In the distant 1552 Ivan the terrible annexed to Russia the Kazan khanate, thus freeing a huge number of Russian people from bondage and captivity. Then began the mass conversion of Muslims, and pagans, to Christianity. Converts were skeptical of new religions, many of them in the shower remained adherents of the former faiths.  Until there was one interesting case.
