History

It would Seem that the war — not the best time for the theater. However, in the midst of the second world war, namely at the end of harsh for our country, 1942, actors, enthusiasts Calkin M. and J. kussakin initiated the organization of the puppet brigade at the defense theater of miniatures. The premiere performance was held in the building of the lecture, which was then located on the street Belinsky. After six months, the "birth" of a new cultural institution was confirmed by official decree. According to this document, the city was established in Penza regional puppet theater. Until 1991, he changed several addresses along the street Moscow. Achievements

In recent years, the theater took part in 9 international and 11 national festivals in the Netherlands, Turkey, Hungary and Poland.

In 1999 the play "Rusalka fairy tale", staged by Vladimir Biryukov, received the Grand Prix at the international festival in the Hungarian town Bekescsaba. Three years later, the Director repeated his success. This time the first prize at the international festival in the Polish city of Toru's honored production of "the Winter tale". In 2003, this same production won the award for "Best artist" becoming a laureate of the national theatrical award "the gold mask". This prestigious prize was awarded to the theatre in 2005, this time for the play "the Forgotten tale".
