Brake system: construction and principle of work

The Braking system is the most important node in every modern car. The effectiveness of its working and in good condition directly affects the safety of the driver and his passengers. Its main function is to control the speed of the vehicle, braking and the required stop.

Modern cars are equipped with three types of these devices:

• Braking system.
• Parking.
• Reserve.

And now all this in more detail. So the first system we have is working. This device has been designed to effectively reduce vehicle speed and to its full stop. It can be involved in the movement of the vehicle (decrease in speed before a dangerous object or in passing maneuvers).

The Second brake system – Parking. It is intended to hold vehicle in place (for example, to rolled down in the Parking lot or a slippery road).

The Following element – backup. The data of the braking system are utilized only when the first fails and ceases to function. Most often it is an Autonomous part of the working of the device.

Arrangement of the brake mechanism in action

This element plays a significant role in the system of the car. It serves to control the speed of the vehicle at the required deceleration or stop. The brake mechanism is carried out by means of special friction material. The latter creates a friction force, whereby the disc or drum to slow down its movement. Accordingly, in this case, the car starts to slow down. How high will this value depends on the force that acts on the brake pads and disk.

Brake system (working) installed in the wheels of the car. As we said above, they can be either disc or drum. The latter consists of two main elements. Brake drum (the rotating part) and the pad (the fixed part). Is considered a more modern disc brake system. It consists of the same parts, but instead of the drum there is a disc.

As a rule, all modern cars, especially cars fitted with such devices. Diagram of the brake system the disk says that the pads in this mechanism are positioned inside of the caliper with the two sides of the rotating disc. The working cylinders are installed in the slots of the caliper (the workpiece itself is mounted on the bracket). When braking they clamp the pads to the brake disk, whereby there is a sharp decrease in the rate. However, the whole system is undergoing a radical temperature loads that occur due to friction. And that pads are not burned and not stuck to the drive wheels there is a special ventilated openings through which the system receives the air flow.
