"Turkish stream" is dead? History and modernity

«Turkish stream» is the working title of the project of the pipeline from Russia to Turkey through the Black sea. For the first time on its construction was announced by the Russian President Vladimir Putin on 1 December 2014, during the state visit to Ankara. This project appeared instead of the previously canceled «South stream». The official name of the new pipeline is not already selected.

History

The First project of gas between the Russian Federation and Turkey was called the «Blue stream» and received formal approval in 2005. Later the parties came to an agreement about its extension. A new project called «South stream». In 2009, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to build another line of the pipeline, in parallel, built in 2005. «Turkish stream» - the pipeline, which should start at the Russian compressor station. It is located near the resort town of Anapa.
