Until the early nineteenth century the area that is now Central Park of culture and rest named after Maxim Gorky, was located outside the city. Today it is the center of the capital, a favorite place of recreation for Muscovites.

In 1937, Betty was arrested after her husband. In the camps she held for seventeen years, but survived and was rehabilitated in 1954. After her release, she has long worked in the Union of composers. A book of her memoirs was published in 1988. In 2008, when the Central Gorky Park celebrated its 85th anniversary, the book Betty Glan was once again reissued.
Muscovites immediately fell in love with this Park. Central garden-Park complex of the city was a favorite spot of their vacation. Gradually there began to appear: Lenin square, the Bolshoi and Maly theatres, children's town, "Spiral descent" (attraction), etc.
In Neskuchny garden was created in a military town, a Symphony stage, in a Park Golitsyn - "Area of silence". Hunting and Bathing houses are turned into tea-eateries – “Samovarnik” and “Float”. The southern part of the Neskuchny garden (St. Andrew's ravine) took the town a one-day rest.
