Chevrolet Monte Carlo debuted in 1970 at the height of the era of muscle cars. It was not just another Chevrolet, and a special offer for customers who want a sporty car with an upscale coupe that would provide a balance of performance and comfort in a stylish package.

Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Chevrolet Monte Carlo had six versions until 2007, when it was discontinued. This stylish two-door car has survived most of its competitors, which are much earlier ceased to exist or was transformed into a four-door sedan.

The First four generations of Chevrolet Monte Carlo was equipped with rear-wheel drive, V8-powered (V6 appeared only in 1978). Later generation all-wheel-drive Monte Carlo were produced with smaller engines, due to the increasing need for stringent fuel economy in the aftermath of two energy crises that caused gasoline shortages and sharply rising prices in 1973 and 1979.

The First generation Chevrolet Monte Carlo (1970 edition)

Monte-Carlo began its existence as a counterpart to the Pontiac Grand Prix as conceived by Elliot M. Estes, General Manager Chevrolet, and the main stylist is Dave Halsa. They modeled the style based on the Cadillac Eldorado, but it is worth noting that a large part of the structure was taken from the Chevrolet Chevelle (firewall, windshield, rear window). Some modifications of Chevrolet Monte Carlo 1972 increased the popularity of the car, so went up and its sale.
