Student government – this is a fairly old system that exists in every school. She was born in the Soviet era. However, the work of the Soviet school of government much different from today.
What is the difference? In Soviet times it was a common phenomenon of how a strict centralization of power. Teachers, students and parents had no right to influence the activities of the head of school. Consequently, school self-government was rigid, entirely was subordinate to the Director, performed only his orders. The main objective of school self-government was to establish strict discipline among students and the implementation of orders from above. Accordingly, the effectiveness of such self-government was zero.
Now the situation has changed radically. Our country officially became democratic, which means that all students have the right to vote and contribute to the activities of the school. Teachers and parents have the right to Express their disagreement with the policies of the school administration and to offer solutions to problems. Student government – it is a system that is not only has the right not to obey the headmaster, but also can affect the organization of work in school. The problem of school self-government now – make school more interesting and more beautiful, to control and develop the activities of the students and to organize clearly a coordinated system.
Student government includes various bodies. So, there is the body responsible for discipline of students and order in the school. His duty is to check the appearance of students, cleaning school grounds and other activities. The body responsible for the organization of events, planning various events, contests and embody conceived in life. The sports sector is responsible for sports activities. The editorial Board is responsible for the design and layout of school premises. The press center publishes the school newspaper, gathering news and interesting information about what is happening in the school.
