Despite the fact that most people are not interested in philosophy as a science, it is a very important part of both individual and public life. The emergence of philosophy — it's a long process, so to determine the origins of this science is difficult. After all known ancient scientists and sages were in one way or another by philosophers, but a few hundred years ago this word was given a very different meaning.

Basic preconditions of occurrence of philosophy

As the emergence of this science and its further development to the present day debate, as each group of thinkers has their own opinion. It is believed that the first philosophical doctrines have their origin in ancient mythology. It ancient tales, parables, stories and legends, and expressed basic philosophical ideas.

Philosophy means “love of knowledge”. It is the desire to explore the world and made possible the emergence of philosophy. In the ancient world science and philosophy were inseparable parts of each other. To be a philosopher meant to strive for new knowledge, the mystery of the unknown, continuous improvement.

The First impetus to the development of this science was the separation of things in Poznan and inexplicable. The second step is the desire to explain the unknown. This was about the only — the story of creation, the meaning of life, the laws of the universe, the structure of living organisms, etc. the Emergence of philosophy became possible thanks to such social factors as the separation of physical and mental labour, the formation of different strata of society and freedom.

The Emergence of philosophy in ancient Greece

It is Customary to assume that ancient Greece was a hotbed of the development of philosophical science. Although in reality different branches of the philosophical doctrines were formed in ancient China, Japan, Egypt and other countries.

The First mention of the philosophers belong to the seventh century BC. The Greek scientist Thales is considered to be one of the first thinkers. By the way, he created the Milesian school. This figure is known for his doctrine of the origin of the universe — water. He believed that every part of the universe, including living beings, is formed from water and the water is drawn after death. This element he was endowed with divinity.

Socrates — another well-known philosopher who made a significant contribution to the development of science. This thinker believed that all the knowledge man needs to use for self-improvement, developing their mental abilities and understanding of the internal capabilities. Socrates believed that evil occurs when people are not aware of their capabilities. This scientist had many followers, including Plato.

Aristotle — another scientist, who is known not only for his philosophical writings, but also scientific discoveries in physics, medicine and biology. What Aristotle gave rise to the science called “logic”, because I thought that the unknown must be explained and apprehended by reason.

The Emergence of philosophy and its development in the world

In fact, in ancient times, the philosopher considered themselves to any scholars seeking to know the truth. For example, Pythagoras was a famous mathematician and has even founded his own school. His disciples sought to systematize and organize social life, to create a perfect model of the state and the Board. In addition, Pythagoras believed that the Foundation of peace is the number that “the master of all things”.

Democritus — another famous scientist and thinker who founded and developed the materialistic theory of knowledge. He claimed that everyone, even the most insignificant event in the world has its cause and denied the existence of the supernatural. All odd things, the philosopher is not explained by divine intervention, but a simple ignorance of the reasons.

Actually, studying the history of philosophy, one can find many famous names. Newton, Einstein, Descartes — they were not philosophers, and each had his own view of the world and the nature of things. Indeed, to separate the “love of truth” from the natural Sciences is almost impossible.
