Early career

Hamit Altintop was born in Germany – he was born in 1982 in Gelsenkirchen. However, from early childhood he knew he will play for the Turkish national team. He went through several football academies in Germany until the age of 15 years was not in the Academy of the club «Wattenscheid”. When the young Turku under the age of 18, this club offered him his first professional contract. Then the few who thought it promising. That is why for two and a half years Turks played for the club, a lower division of Germany, where he played a total of 75 matches, scoring 12 goals. Only then 21-year-old Hamit Altintop was spotted by scouts from other larger German teams.

In 2003 a miracle happened-for two million Euro, an unknown midfielder moved to one of the strongest clubs of Germany, «Schalke». It was then that he began his ascent in the big football.

The Rise of «Schalke»

Many were surprised that coach «Schalke» almost immediately entrusted the young inexperienced Turku the place, because all the speeches last in professional football occurred in the regional League. The Heyday in the «Bavaria»
