A criminal record and a passport: obtaining a document

To travel abroad regardless of the purpose, whether a business trip or vacation, a citizen of the Russian Federation needs to “zagranku” – passport. It is a document certifying the identity of its owner when leaving the country, entering it, and also during the stay abroad. What is a criminal record

• With the conditional sentence the criminal record is quashed immediately;
• Softer, than imprisonment, punishment (e.g. fines) – a year;
• In case of conviction for crimes of small severity – three years;
• When committing a serious crime – six years;
• If the offence was particularly serious – 8 years.

Among other things, a criminal record can be paid prior to the expiration of that period in court in the case of irreproachable conduct of the convicted person, and also as a result of the Amnesty.

Enough to remove a criminal record and a passport can be obtained in the usual manner. However, the citizen must take the certificate to the police station at the place of residence that his conviction is removed (suppressed). It can apply in person (through a representative) or through a written application (by mail). Where to issue a passport, what documents are needed to obtain

“Zagranku” for people with a criminal record and a passport for the rest of the citizens of the Russian Federation practically do not have the necessary documents. You will need to provide:

• Russian passport
• Originals and copies of birth certificates of children under the age of 14 years;
• Application to receive a “zagranku”;
• Receipt of fees and forms;
• 4 photos (requires photo settings you need to know beforehand in place of a passport);
• Certified copy or original of the work book;
• The men of military age – a certificate from the recruiting office;
• A certificate stating that an extinguished conviction available;
• And a passport previously issued (expired).

The Deadline for issuance of the passport when applying at the place of residence does not exceed one month, at the place of stay (when the temporary residence permit) – four months. In case if there is documentary certified by the necessity of obtaining a document in connection with acute need of treatment, as well as the death of a close relative abroad, the terms of issue of the passport should not exceed three days.
