Service contract – it's not an easy job, as mistakenly believed by many. Because private military contractors are professional defenders of our country.

Today, the Russian defense Ministry one of the most important moments in its activities considers the maximum advance of recruitment of the armed forces. And the main role in this process is played by the service contract. According to the instructions of the President the number of contract servicemen by 2017 should turn the 425 thousand.

In this regard, the relevant departments have developed the basic approaches for picking the units contractual military personnel. The basis of this comparatively new in the army the process laid down a complex diverse system of selection of candidates, as well as their future direction of education for the training in training centers and Universities with the subsequent conclusion of contracts with them.

For the Russian state military service under the contract is new. And just like everything new, it has its positive and its negative sides.

The biggest advantage of the Armed forces, formed on a contractual basis for Russian citizens who have reached of military age, is the possibility of free choice only on their own: to serve in the army or not to serve.

The Contract on military service shall be signed between a citizen of Russia and the Ministry of defence or the Federal Executive authority in which a candidate must pass in the future, his military service. It is made in writing on a given form in the manner determined by law.

The Service contract provides for the voluntary enlistment for military service. Age limit according to which accepted citizens of our country – from eighteen to forty years.

The contract specifies the precise period during which the contractor must “work” in the Armed Forces, and the conditions under which will be implemented by passage of military service under the contract. The latter include the legal duty of citizens to serve in the armed forces, troops of a particular type, military formations or in the relevant bodies during a particular period.

The contractor agrees to the maximum faithfully execute all the duties of soldiers, both General and official, and special – those established by law or other legal acts.

The contract also specifies the rights of the citizen-contractor and all members of his family, including receipt of certain benefits, guarantees, compensations, in short, everything that defines the service contract for the military during the performance of their duties. This appointment to a specific military position with assignment of a military rank, a periodic certification, the order of dismissal from service and other circumstances and events in accordance with the law relating to proprietary and legal status of military personnel.

The beginning of the period of such service in the armed forces is the day when the contract enters already into force. Deadline for the serviceman, serving, – the one that is specified in the contract.

Who has the right to contract?

First, those men whose previous contract ended, reservists, soldiers who are recruiting military service and graduated from higher educational and professional institutions, and those citizens that are not in stock, but have already received a higher education, including women. To this list we can add the category of people that is defined by the normative act of the President.
