City on the Volga – the heart of Russia

In many countries, there are rivers, which became not just transportation routes or sources of water, and a kind of spiritual aorta supplying folk art and national culture. Rhine, the Mississippi, the Danube, the Amazon, Nile, Ganges, Yangtze river – the same characters of fairy tales and legends, like their other heroes. About the river fold songs, and those who were lucky enough to be born and grow on their shores, to return, at least briefly, that whichever their fate. So is the main river of our country-Volga.

The Great river crosses our country, bringing huge masses of water from North to South, absorbing numerous tributaries. Perhaps we have yet to assess the significance of the effects of such energy on the man, but the fact remains – city on the Volga became the birthplace of many prominent people.

Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Saratov, Nizhniy Novgorod, Syzran, Samara – these names sound like a song for lovers of Russian history, some of these places included in Golden ring of Russia.

Town on the river Volga is very beautiful and surrounded by nature. The island on the left coast are so numerous that some of them sometimes decades not visited by humans, nature remains pristine.

If you take a cruise on a ship that stops only at major inland ports, it is possible to miss very much. The special charm of a small provincial centres becomes unavailable. A small town on the Volga, such as Syzran, Kamyshin, Volsk, very beautiful, rich in architectural and cultural monuments, as a rule, there are excellent theatres and art galleries, rich historical exhibits of local history and archaeological museums.
