The Engine 2111 continued a series of power plants manufactured by VAZ, replacing the conveyor belt of models 21083 and 2110. This motor is considered the first fully developed domestic fuel injected engine.

Cylinder head fuel injected engine 2111 is the same as installed on model 21083, the difference is only one – fixing the head bolts have greater length.
The Camshaft similar to the 2110. Mounting dimensions are identical with the shaft from the 2108, but a slightly different Cam profile, causing increased valve lift: intake-9.6 mm, graduation – 9.3 mm (2108, and those and others rose to 9 mm). Due to the fact that after the engine upgrade it has increased the torque was changed and the flywheel design: the surface under the traction increased from 196 to 208 mm, the width of the crown has also increased to 27.5 mm (previous was 20,9), also changed the size and shape of his teeth.
The Starter corresponds to the model 2110, pinion gear which has 9 instead of 11 teeth.
This power unit installed the oil pump 2112, the difference is from the model 2108 is only in the fact that the housing cover is made of aluminum, which is mounted CKP sensor.
Water pump part of the cooling system is the same as in 2108.
The Generator is marked 9402 3701 (80 A).
The engine Control is carried out by the electronic unit (ECU). Fit controllers (Bosch, GM, or “Jan”).
As noted, most car owners whose cars equipped with engine 2111, the whole Assembly is quite robust: despite the fact that its working life, according to the manufacturer, is 250 thousand km, in fact, subject to regular maintenance use quality fuel and fluids its life can be extended up to 350 thousand km.
However, despite the conducted reforms, this engine has inherited the flaws of previous models (21083 and 2110):
