From time immemorial, the wedding is considered a joyous unforgettable celebration that unites the two lovers, the so-called birthday of a new family, so everyone wanted to have in this day everything was just perfect.
Among baking, decorating a festive table, always in the price was bread, since it played an important role in family rituals and was a symbol of fertility and prosperity. That's why you always bake the loaf for a wedding, the absence of which meant a defective rite. They were young called on prosperous long life.
It is made from the highest grades of flour, which knead the dough with the addition of butter and eggs. On top of the cakes was decorated with pine cones, ducks or pigeons, spikelets and florets, which were made from the same dough. And in some regions of Ukraine the wedding loaf decorated with branches of fruit-bearing trees, tied with red ribbons, a variety of herbs, ears of wheat, flowers viburnum, berries. All this was done for several reasons. First, most of the activities were carried out in the autumn time, harvest time, and secondly, cranberry and wheat symbolize the strong love and well-being. Sometimes the symbol of wealth was tied with a towel.
As the loaf cooked for the wedding symbolized the status of a young couple, it tried to make the large size, sometimes reaching sizes of wedding table. They met the bride and groom, offering them the taste of this fragrant sweet bread that is in the middle, which meant the birth of a new life. Consider how the loaf is baked for the wedding.
So for this you will need the following ingredients: eight cups of flour, twenty grams of dry yeast, one hundred grams of butter (butter or melted), half a Cup of milk, ten eggs, seven tablespoons of sugar, two tablespoons of salt, zest of one lemon cinnamon to taste.
The Yeast along with one teaspoon of sugar diluted in milk, add yolks, mashed with sugar, and well mix everything.
In a larger bowl pour the slide flour, make a deepening in the middle, where you pour the resulting mass of yeast, and kneaded the dough.
On the table, pour half a Cup of flour, put the dough and well kneaded until it becomes smooth (for the time it will take approximately twenty minutes). Thus, it should be two pounds.
Before you bake the loaf on a wedding, must be separated from the total mass of the test six hundred grams, of the residue to make a ball and lay on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. This ball is smeared with water and the remaining mass of the mold different decorations such as leaves, flowers, cones, etc., which have on the loaf. The surface of the product is smeared with egg yolk and bake in the oven at a high temperature at the lower level about half an hour.
After that, the oven must be off to open the door and give baked goods to cool. After that it is removed, cover with a napkin and allow to stand for one night.
Thus, the loaf on the wedding is the indispensable attribute that predicts a long and happy life.
