Oil (synthetic) 5W30 in our country is widespread. Why it is preferred by many motorists and whether they pour in the engine of your own car? To obtain an objective evaluation was carried out corresponding tests.
The best thing about the quality of a particular oil say by independent tests. To do this, select a few types of lubricating fluid, they are subjected to various tests, display and analyze the results, and then compare them between themselves, determining the best brand of oil.
Such a test was decided upon the Ford Focus. All the cars had mileage under ten thousand miles, engine size-1.6-liter with 100 horsepower. The engine refers to the inexpensive, modern petrol units, without complex related mechanisms. In its structure includes cotocollao, timing belt in timing and four valves for each cylinder.
Among other things the experimenters were interested in a better oil 5W30: synthetic or polysynthetic. Therefore, we chose the brand with the two basics:

The test Was performed at one hundred degrees in the engine oil. Synthetic 5W30 and polysynthetic showed different results, although the gap was small. The most dense was the grease “shell”, and the liquid - «energy». Additives in some samples is very different. All oils calcium was 2000 mg/kg and zinc with phosphorus 1000 mg/kg. At the same time, “shell” was only 1350 mg/kg of calcium, and “energy” and even less, only 750 mg/kg. Therefore, in the first group had a high alkali content and with a large proportion of detergents and antioxidant additives. The high amount of alkali was observed in "Castrol", and the low — “shell”.

As a result of a nine-week tests was that the car went 10,000 miles, 45 times ran the motor on a cold and 72% — on a hot. The motors have worked a hundred hours in the load at 6000 rpm and 54 hours in vain.

Darkening of all lubricating fluids was observed after two and a half thousand kilometers. This indicates a good detergent qualities of all the samples — under the valve covers, the purity is preserved. The difference was significant when working at low temperatures. When frost of twenty degrees the liquid from the dipstick dripped easily in all grades except "Castrol". Problems running none of the sample does not arise even when the temperature falls below 27 degrees.
The waste costs were the following. First, it took polysynthetic “mobile” already 4.8 thousand kilometers, and after 8 thousand kilometers — again. Another polysynthetic “Total” is also not very behind. On refilling it took about two litres on every oil. Synthetic 5W30 showed burn is much lower. At marks "Castrol" and "Zeke" left, 1.4-litre and “shell” to 1.23 liters, and “Goals” is 1.9 liters. This result suggests that the run on synthetics can be more than polysynthetic.
The Refueling of all cars produced in one station and only high-quality gasoline. Fuel consumption was almost identical. But the most economical results showed the oil (synthetic) 5W30 “energy”, and wasteful — “shell”. The difference however was quite minimal, to 3 %.
The Main thing is that all oils have had good wear-resistant effect. Even after driving at very high speed chrome piston rings (which are subjected to the greatest wear) are not isolated chromium in the oil at all. The content of other metals did not exceed the permissible threshold.
Summing up the obtained results, we find that the best had oil automotive 5W30 synthetic brands "TNC", "Castrol” and “Motul”. Outsiders here were “shell”, “energy” and “Zeke".
But it is worth noting that all of the lubricant continued to maintain cleaning quality, even closer to the final threshold. Indicators high temperature viscosity also remained withinrules.
Polysynthetic, in turn, has been enviably stable the viscosity is decreased by only 3 sq mm/s, that is the same as that of the greases based on synthetic.
All the important characteristics of all samples has proven its performance in over 20 thousand miles under normal conditions and 10 thousand kilometers — severe. What to choose oil 5W30? Synthetic (reviews and objective test results confirm this) with high base number, which includes samples "Castrol”, “TNK” and “Motul”, suitable especially for the inhabitants of remote areas, where fuel quality is poor. From polysynthetic they also include “mobile”.
But on the other hand, polysyndetic there is the greatest waste, because of what a low cost in the end will not be winning.
But considered traditionally elite engine oil 5W30 (synthetic) “shell” and “Zeke" was in fact not with the highest specifications. So about whether or not to buy them, you need to seriously think over all the options that they showed. On the one hand, they saw the lowest heat, excellent additives and base oil, but the constant refueling of high-sulphur fuels can lead to the best results.
In addition to pour gasoline should only on proven gas stations, after the end of the factory warranty it is better to use a lubricating fluid called Low SAPS, which have reduced the alkaline content. They load on the Converter would be ten times lower than the effect of increased sulfur content in gasoline.
The Best option is to buy an inexpensive synthetic that should be changed frequently, i.e. every 15 thousand kilometers.
