Cognitive therapy is one of the most popular and successful methods, the basis of which is to facilitate adaptation of the client - both social and personal - with the help of changes in personal beliefs that hinder this adaptation. Of course, the use of this therapeutic method requires the doctor a lot of works, but brings success almost always.

Cognitive therapy was invented in the early 20th century, Aaron Beck. This man believed that many psychological problems the client may experience due to the fact that it builds the wrong conclusions, distorting the true picture of the world. The reason for this is the so-called "automatic thoughts" - thoughts that arise in the evaluation of the experienced situation. And they can cause inappropriate behavior.

As a result of these "automatic thoughts" many people can form incorrect stereotypes. The probability of their formation in childhood, and that they are the most difficult to destroy.

The Goal of cognitive psychotherapy is to help in getting rid of stereotypes, training on the correct analysis of the situation, defining their own interpretations of different situations and its causes.

Psychologists using the cognitive approach, have a long time to examine the patient as to help him to get rid of wrong beliefs, you need to understand how this person thinks, why and how he had such beliefs.

To better understand the nature of cognitive psychotherapy, it is advisable to learn at least one example of how the cognitive approach in psychology can facilitate a man's life.

For example, the psychologist comes to people suffering from headaches, it occurring when you experience certain emotions. To help him, the doctor asks the client to keep a detailed diary of what he did, how did you feel, at what point were headache. The more time is like a diary, the easier it is to understand why the patient has a headache, and to help him.

For example, the client interesting, but quite complicated work, in which he tries to do perfectly. Emotions and the tension during operation is already being felt, and if the job still failed to run perfectly, here it is - a strong headache. Well, in that case, if the authorities have expressed dissatisfaction with the work performed, the client can only sympathize.

Now, record in the patient diary we can understand that such emotions (experience in carrying out the work, the frustration of failing a mission, unbearable shame at the judgment of superiors) cause him a headache. How to help him? The first thing to work on, in order to eliminate the "excellent pupil". Striving for perfection is fine, but everything needs to be a limit. After the perfect job will no longer be the most important for the patient, his condition will improve dramatically. Will remain just removing the excessive sense of duty to the client no longer suffer from shame, hearing the reproaches of the chief.

In fact, to perform all described above is not so easy and it will be easier to do in a new workplace.

But, unfortunately, there are quite neglected situations in which cognitive therapy does not give almost any results, and treatment promises to drag on for a long time. What does a psychologist do? In psychiatry there is a similar cognitive therapy method that is more effective, but more harsh.

This Method is suggestive psychotherapy, which is hypnosis. During treatment, the doctor puts the patient into a hypnotic state of being in which the client cannot take any action. Psychologist short, clear phrases produces a suggestion. As a rule, a man inspired optimism, says that he when wakes up, will have to get rid of their disease/fear/aggression/insecurity.

Suggestive therapy is used in many psychological problems, as well as in physical diseases.
